Membership

The Grover Cleveland Park Conservancy is funded by memberships and donations from residents and local businesses, and it participates in employer match programs, as well as Benevity, Idealist, and Amazon Smile for donations.

Many in the West Essex community have become members because they enjoyed the park as children or brought their children to the park. Many park users as well as employees of local businesses use the park at lunchtime for picnicking and recreation.

How we spend your membership dollars

Our income is generated from programs such as the Halloween parade, 50/50 sales as well as dues and donations. The goal is to have programs generate income to help the Conservancy to pursue its mission.

Most of our income comes from membership dues and donations. In 2018, the Conservancy was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Rotary Club of the Caldwells which was spent in 2019. Additionally, the Essex County Park contributed $5,000 to the construction of the bridge railings and the upgrading of the roadbed structure.

The operating expenses include Programs for Halloween, Games day. Derby Day Revenue and Expenses are separate as is the purchase of trees, plants, bushes and flowers for the park.  There were start-up costs for Derby Day that are now minimized.
