Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs
Our partnership with the county dates to 2001 when Joseph DiVincenzo, president of the Board of County Commissioners (formerly the Freeholders) led the refurbishment of the county parks.
Although the County is responsible for the maintenance of the park grounds and structures, the Conservancy lets the County know about issues in the park such as dying or dangerous trees, pathway lights that may be out, or playground equipment that may be damaged.
